You might have seen children from other schools in the area carrying violins or ukuleles to and from school. In all likelihood, they are part of an initiative run by Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council called 'Music Generation.' We applied to become a 'Music Generation' school and we are delighted to tell you that we've been selected! Every week, a trained musician will come to the school and will work with the children on an 'introduction to music' programme. The children will get to play percussion instruments, use their body, learn songs, etc. There will be a few extra workshops that the children will attend and also a concert at the end of the year! This initiative will be part of our music curriculum. There will be a cost per child associated with this.
